Narelle Hartwich – Dental Hygienist and Therapist
Narelle graduated from Dental Therapy School Melbourne with a Diploma Of Applied Science (Dental Therapy) 1991, now part of University of Melbourne, and then worked for Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) in a number of locations in South West and North West Victoria, located in mobile dental vans until mid 1997. While working part time as an orthodontist assistant Narelle became interested in a career as a dental hygienist. She returned to working for DHSV part time in 1999 while studying and graduated from the first lateral entry for Diploma in Oral Health Therapy (Dental Hygiene) at University of Melbourne. Narelle practiced in general private practice in Mildura & Swan Hill Victoria as a registered dental therapist/hygienist whilst continuing to work with DHSV part time until moving to Canberra in 2002. Narelle worked both in orthodontic & general practices as a dental hygienist in Canberra and with Dubbo Community Dental Clinic as a dental therapist. After 5 yrs Narelle couldn’t bear the cold any longer and returned to Victoria to be closer to her family. Narelle accepted the post of part time lecturer / supervisor at the Latrobe University Bendigo with the new Department of Oral Health and brings her expertise to Sims Family Dental Care two days per week. Narelle is a member of the Dental Hygienist Association of Australia (DHAA), currently the Victorian DHAA Representative for their National Executive and she attends a number of Continuing Education conferences during each year. |
