Lindy - Dental Practice Receptionist

After two years of training in a local dental practice Lindy gained her Dental Assistants qualification in 1988.

In 1989 Lindy left Castlemaine and worked as a dental assistant in Perth and then Melbourne before heading overseas to travel as well as working as a temp Dental Assistant in London. She also worked as a hotel receptionist and a volunteer on a Kibbutz in Israel.

On her return to Australia in 1994 Lindy started a career in Hospitality which had long been an interest of hers, it was working in several high end establishments in St Kilda that she was able to gain extensive experience in the restaurant industry and develop a life long passion for food and wine. It was at this time that Lindy was able to pursue another dream which was to study Drama; she was accepted into the National Theatre Drama School in St Kilda in 1997 where she completed one year of actor training before deciding that her talents laid in stage management, she worked on many stage shows and in 1998 produced a successful show for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

In 2003 when Lindy’s son was three years old she decided to return to Dental Assisting and worked for four years in Inner South Community Health Service, South Yarra where she enjoyed working in public health. Here she felt like what she did made a difference to peoples lives and found it to be a very tolerant and rewarding workplace.

In 2006 Lindy returned to Castlemaine with her son and loves living back in the country where she enjoys a more relaxed lifestyle and finds that  being part of the team at Sims Dental allows her to put to good use her organisational skills and commitment to patient care.
